Google’s LaMDA, a large language model (LLM), is now open to everyone. It can generate text, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content, and answer your questions in an informative way. LaMDA is trained on a massive dataset of text and code, and is able to communicate and generate human-like text in response to a wide range of prompts and questions. Under active development.
I went and tested its capabilities right away. I mean the main difference is supposed to be the connectivity to the internet – unfortunately, we can see the shortcomings right away.
Google Bard is definitely new LLM on the block, heavy competitor for ChatGPT, but considering it is coming 6 months after ChatGPT release, they have some catching up to do.
Google Bard is not available in my country, but I went and installed Opera browser with FREE VPN functionality and then I could access Bard no problem.
